WELCOME TO MY SPANISH CLASS

Dear Parents/Guardians, Welcome to my Spanish class website! 

I would like to take the opportunity to let you know that I am very excited to be teaching Spanish to your children. I am happy that you want to learn more about how to help your child with the Spanish class.

I am delighted to be your child’s teacher this 2020-2021 school year. Your child will have Spanish class once a week for a forty-minute period. My class will be conducted mostly in Spanish. Throughout the course of the year, each unit taught will be based on a final project and I will provide ample opportunities for your child to explore the language and culture of different countries of Latin America and the Caribbean. 

During my classes, my students will be exposed to Spanish, not only the language but also the culture of various Spanish-speaking countries. Since I love to make learning Spanish fun, my students will be playing games, singing songs, reading books, dancing, telling stories, having access to technology, and more in order to encourage, challenge and motivate them to learn Spanish.

This year, I am going to monitor my student’s progress by having a Project Based Assessment (PBA) per marking period. The students are also going to have ample opportunities to demonstrate their growth. Most of the notes for grades are share via Google Classroom and Realtime.  

Our evaluation system will consist of Class Participation, Classwork, Homework, and Collaborative work with their classmates.
