Ms. Galan's Music World!

Hello there, I'm Ms. Galan! I am a general music teacher, in the classroom, and direct the fourth to eighth grade chorus. I, also, direct other shows and performances such as the eighth graders' graduation songs, first and second grade concerts, the yearly talent show, fashion show, play and more. I have created a web series titled "Music with Ms. Galan" on my teacher YouTube Channel to help my students learn several musical concepts. I have also created Horace Mann's Cougar Talk show to help highlight the many talented students at our school 🎭.

In the classroom we learn musical notation, vocal technique, rhythmic dictation, solfege, a variety of songs, and some musical instruments. We also study world music and musical artists, among other things. For music class, please make sure your student has a music folder, a pencil and a one-subject notebook for the year.

The chorus puts on two concerts, annually (Winter and Spring Concerts), and also performs at our town's yearly Winter Festival and Green Health Festival. Chorus rehearsals are on Tuesdays and Thursdays after school from 3:00 pm to 4:00 pm. Also, extra help is offered on Wednesdays from 3:00 to 3:30 pm.
