ABOUT MS. DEL RIO
Hello, I am Ms. Del Río; My educational background started in Colombia with a Bachelor Degree in Business Administration. I am a certified teacher in Spanish, Elementary and Special Education. I have a Bachelor’s Degree from New Jersey City University in Elementary and Special Education. I also hold a Master’s Degree in Urban Education "World languages Specialization" from the same university. I have a wide range of teaching experience, most notably at the New Jersey City University, where I teach Spanish courses. I currently work as a 1st grade Teacher at Horace Mann Elementary School. I am the recipient of a the NJCU Graduate Assistantship, NJCU College of Education Academic Achievement Award for Academic Excellence, Recipient of George Karnoutsos Scholarship and Recipient of NJCU Scholarship. I am part of the FLENJ Mentoring program where I served as a mentor for new teachers, and I am also the current President of The National Spanish Honor Society (Sigma Delta Pi).

Hola, soy la señora Del Río, mi educación empezó en Colombia con una Licenciatura en Administración de Empresas y tres años de experiencia en el mundo de los negocios. Trabajé como jefe de recursos humanos para una compañía de exportaciones internacionales en mi país natal, Colombia. Soy maestra certificada de español, educación especial, y educación elemental. Tengo una licenciatura en artes con concentración en educación elemental, educación especial y español, de la Universidad de Nueva Jersey. También poseo una especialización en educación urbana de esta misma universidad.
Este es mi onceavo año como maestra enseñando en la escuela elemental. También trabajo como profesora de español para el departamento de lenguas modernas de la Universidad de Jersey City. Soy miembro y presidente de la Sociedad Nacional Honoraria Hispánica Sigma Delta Pi desde el 2013.
