This past summer, Miss Diehl started a very special project painting for sick/terminal children, called Art Heals. By using her passion for art, Ms. Diehl helps children by painting their favorite thing, and covers all the costs associated with materials and shipping. Being able to see their faces after they get their special paintings has been inspirational to her. Using this experience, she has decided to teach her students in grades 6-8 the idea of paying it forward. These students will be designing hospital gowns for sick children. The contest, created by Starlight Children’s Foundation, lets students create ideas for new children’s hospital gowns. By using the idea of Paying it Forward, Miss Diehl is teaching her students that doing for others feels great. Contact Ms. Diehl at [email protected] if you would like to participate.
