My name is Dr. Luis J. Ramirez I am an elementary school teacher for the North Bergen Board of Education. I have a Doctorate in Educational Technologies Leadership, I hold teaching certifications in Elementary Education, Teacher of Students with Disabilities and Supervision. For the past fourteen years, I have been teaching special education mathematics and English Language Arts at Horace Mann School. I have had the pleasure to work with wonderful teachers from whom I have learned an incredible amount of styles and techniques of teaching. During my tenure at Horace Mann School, I have worked in an inclusion setting, as well as provided individualized instruction using the Wilson Fundations Reading Program. I am an advocate for the utilization of technology in learning. For the school year 2023-2024, we will be implementing a technology-rich learning environment for all students.
Since the beginning of my career at Horace Mann, I have been drawn to the possibility of greater integration of project-based learning utilizing technology or implementing technology-based programs in the school curriculum to teach struggling students. It is amazing to see how technology continues to evolve and provide us with ample resources to utilize in our virtual and in-person classrooms.
I graduated in May 2019 with a Doctorate of Education (Ed.D.) Degree In Educational Technology Leadership Program this program has provided me with the knowledge to become an educational technology leader. I will utilize this knowledge and training to research and propose the implementation of educational technologies within the North Bergen School District. I also intend to continue my research in educational technology as it applies to the education of students with disabilities.
